What is the Political Courage Test?

Florida Congressional Election 2016 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
All human beings share the same beginning and end. Shouldn?t we extend the same rights and experience of life that we have personally enjoyed to all? The paramount right to life is vested in each human being from the moment we come into existence, without regard for the stage of development, age or health. We need to hold life sacred no matter what stage it is in. I support the promotion of life from the beginning to the end.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
I am for cutting wasteful spending in the military and funding new technologies that will protect our country for years to come.....History shows if you cut taxes the economy grows, which in turn creates more jobs, higher wages and more money into the Treasury? It?s basic economics. When people have more money they spend and invest more into the economy. When government takes more money, it creates more debt. Congress needs to lower marginal rates and simplify the tax code to restore economic growth opportunities for individuals, families and businesses.
Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?
Unknown Position Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders?
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
The United States has the highest corporate tax rate in the industrialized world. Studies have shown that reducing the corporate tax rate would not have a negative effect on government. In fact, if we eliminate it completely the American economy would grow by 6% over 10 years. Lowering the corporate tax rate would give American businesses that have moved overseas to avoid a high tax burden a very attractive reason to come back. They would have more money to invest in their businesses, which would create more jobs and higher pay for the American people.
Unknown Position Do you generally support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
I believe eduction should be handled at the state and local level.
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
Do you support increased regulations on the hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") industry?
Unknown Position Do you support building the Keystone XL pipeline?
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Climate advocates appear bent on proving man-made global warming. Real science does not seek to prove, but rather to disprove. Scientists are supposed to be skeptics, not advocates. That?s the only way to prevent ?junk science?. There is a growing debate over whether the majority of cooling and warming is even related to greenhouse gases. There is evidence that our climate is directly related to the Sun?s activity?who is correct? The obsessive focus on CO2 by climate change advocates as the primary driver of climate means research on natural variability like the suns cycle is not getting the attention needed.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
The right to bear arms is necessary for the security of a free state. Only armed people are free. James Madison talked about ?just and free government? is derived from a social compact. ?Just powers? of government are derived by ?the consent of the governed?. These rights are to be protected by the political society, they are not created by government. They exist by nature and governments are necessary to secure them.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Obamacare is a clear disregard for the 10th amendment (commerce clause) and is an unjustified seizure of liberty from the private sector. This law is reckless, irresponsible and if it?s not repealed it will bankrupt us. We must put healthcare back in the private sector and allow people to be responsible for their health. Our federal government was never meant to run 20% of our economy in the private sector. That would be considered a monopoly. Not only are 75% of all participants upset about poor coverage and high premiums, but millions have lost the health care plans they liked.
Unknown Position Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Unknown Position Do you support same-sex marriage?
I vote other because I don?t believe its the federal governments job is tell us who we can and can?t marry. That should be up to the States, local communities and church?s.
Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the United States from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Unknown Position Do you support increased American intervention in Iraq and Syria beyond air support?
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?

This is a very open ended questions. How much are they spending on all of these today? There are some things our federal government should focus on like national security/defense and space exploration. The other areas should be left to the states to decide if they want to fund them or not based off their residents needs.
My top priorities If I am elected. 1st I will work to pass a balance budget amendment and pay down our national debt. 2nd I will work to get a congressional rotation amendment (term limits) passed in Congress. 3rd I will work to pass tax reform legislation and put curbs in place to stop the federal government from picking and choosing winners and losers. All 3 will not require any money because we will be saving billions by cutting wasteful spending and debt and generating billions by turning on the greatest economic engine in the history of mankind.
